Fitness

We all want to be fit, but what stops us? Typically, it’s the START that stops most people! At Soul Connexion, we are there to kick start your fitness program, help you reach your goals, and are there with you the whole way through! You can do it, and we can help you! Our classes are specially designed for all fitness levels.

Fitness classes are structured to incorporate strength training, stretching and toning to reach optimal performance. Top trainers and fitness experts design the classes with creativity, education and fun in mind. We welcome individuals of all fitness levels.

We are Calgary’s only dance, yoga and fitness studio and are sure there will be a fitness class you will enjoy!

Fit Kids (6-12yrs)

This program is designed to get children 6-12 years of age active in a fun and encouraging environment. Each class will incorporate drills, kick boxing, weights and toning and exercise games. Children can benefit from the many advantages of exercise such as decrease in stress level, increased quality of sleep, decrease risk for diabetes ad heart disease and increase heart strength.  Start your child early on a path of health and fitness.

ZUMBA

This popular latin dance based fitness class will make you groove in style while you work up a sweat. The class incorporates Salsa, Merenque, Cumbia and Reggaeton. Explore the latin rhythms while having fun and getting a full body work out. Zumba is taught in over 75 countries and is welcome to all levels of fitness and dance experience. It’s time to move those hips!

Self Defense

This class will provide you with the tools and basic skills to help protect yourself and your family from physical harm.  Through our progressive training program students will learn how to escape from aggressive grabs, chokes, and holds by using simple and effective self defense techniques.  In addition, students will learn how changes in body position and movement can quickly eliminate a violent attack.  Self defense techniques are practiced in a variety of situations in a safe and controlled environment.

Through our training you will develop greater confidence, better mental preparedness, and boost your overall fitness.  Classes instructed by Jeremy Tillman, a forth degree Black Belt with 20 years of martial art experience.

Latin Aerobics

Learn the latest moves in Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha, and Buchata in our Latin Aerobics class and have an amazing workout at the same time.  This class will work on body isolation, coordination and strength as the hips will be put to the test. Your torso, legs and hips will tighten and tone as you explore the latin rhythms that will make you feel hot hot hot!

Latin Pump

Feeling Hot Hot Hot! Experience the fun of dancing to Latin music in this perfect mix of cardio and weight resistance. This new class features 30 minutes of Latin cardio aerobics and 30 minutes of weights. The class is designed to keep your heart rate up through our high repetitions and lower weights used to tone up arms, legs and abs.  This is one class that is fun, high energy and a full body workout. Coming in December.

Body Mix

Experience a full body workout in one hour with the ultimate combination of cardiovascular and muscle toning. This class will challenge your core while keeping your heart rate up and getting the sculpting and definition you desire. My mixing things up each class you will be sure to challenge your body while having fun.

Bootcamp

We have designed our monthly boot camp to be a high energy, high impact, 3 day a week program. Each class will be individually focused on a new aspect of health.To make our program beneficial to your overall fitness levels, we have included endurance, cardiovascular training, strengthening exercises, with incline and drills.We know that everyone has different fitness goals and our goal is to create an environment that is motivating and supportive. We promise to make it a fun, team building experience that provides results.

Experience the benefits of having a strong and stable body through this weight lifting class designed to develop lean muscles. Doing high repetitions with low weight will allow for the muscle definition you have always wanted. This class will keep your metabolism up while burning calories through out the entire day.  It’s time to get tight and tone up your body!

Cardio Kickboxing

Cardio Kickboxing classes will be offered throughout the day for both children and adults. This class is designed around basic kickboxing moves, combined with high intensity, cardio vascular training. Class will be composed of a warm-up, which will allow the participants to prepare their bodies for the next fun filled combination of punches and kicks. This class will make you sweat and leave you feeling empowered.

Dance Fit

Experience a variety of dance styles from Salsa to Hip Hop to Swing all in one class.This aerobic dance class is designed for those who love to dance and workout at the same time. Cardiovascular endurance, muscle memory and muscle strength are put to the test.

Latinize

Latinize

It’s time to move your body and dance your stress away in this creative approach to fitness. This class is an amazing workout that challenges the entire body with emphasis placed on the legs and torso. Learn the basic steps of salsa and meringue while sculpting your body and learning how to move your hips Latino style.

Open Stretch

Open Stretch

Experience the benefits of stretching without any complicated sequences. Stretching improves flexibility, joint mobility, prevents injury and repairs the body. This component of fitness is often neglected and yet so important. Experience a class that welcomes people who enjoy deep stretches without having to worry about coordination or memorizing a series of movements.

Turbo Blast

Feel the energy from an intense full body workout that shocks your body to a new level of fitness. The class combines high - low intervals and full body strength training while using your own body weight as resistance. This class is recommended for those who need a change from their typical workout regime and are ready to blast their bodies into shape!

Ballorama

This class is a fun way to increase body strength with the use of utility balls. The class targets the abdominals, gluteus, hamstrings, and arms while engaging the core at all times. Allow your body to realign naturally and challenge your balance abilities.

Floor Aerobics

Enjoy a workout to a variety of step patterns and sequences while stimulating your mind and body. Floor aerobics is an enjoyable way to exercise that is easy to learn, rhythmic and physically challenging.

C - Zone

Cardio - Zone

C Zone is a circuit training class that requires a combination of physical and mental strength. Intervals will be designed to build your cardiovascular fitness and strength endurance. Your physical limits will be put to the test through one on one instruction in a class setting. As you learn the fundamentals of kickboxing you will incorporate plyometrics with core stability movements. The C- Zone quickly puts you into the fat burning zone, creating results you can actually see and feel.

Enjoy a workout to a variety of step patterns and sequences while stimulating your mind and body. Floor aerobics is an enjoyable way to exercise that is easy to learn, rhythmic and physically challenging.

Pilates

Pilates

Pilates was designed to stretch, strengthen and evenly balance the body. This practice teaches you awareness of breath and alignment while engaging the core in all movements. Additional benefits include improved posture, strength, and concentration. Whether you are a just learning the art or are well practiced, this class will demonstrate the fundamentals while encouraging your body to reach new levels of technique and inspiration. Registered Pilates starting in January.
