Native Calgarian Lori Goods fell in love with dance at a young age and trained in the Al Gilbert tap as well as the ADAPT jazz and tap syllabuses for 15 years, completing top exam levels. Her dancing feet have taken her all over the world, including performances in Australia and Europe as well as all over British Columbia and Alberta. Lori continued to dance and perform in university in the University of Calgary’s Dance Montage, Dance at Noon, and Mainstage productions. She continues to dance locally as a performer and director of Tappestry, Calgary’s all-girl 18+ tap company, performing at the Lilac Festival and other local venues.
Teaching dance is Lori’s true passion and she has inspired hundreds of students over the last decade to pursue their highest dreams. Lori teaches everything from tap, jazz and musical theatre, to African and hip hop, beginner to advanced. Lori has successfully prepared dancers for their Al Gilbert tap exams, CDTA tap and jazz exams, ADAPT jazz and tap exams and has choreographed routines achieving top mark and choreography awards in local competitions. When she is not teaching, Lori takes as many local workshops as possible and frequents Vancouver and LA to keep up with the ever-changing dance world.
Lori is thrilled to be coming on board for Soul Connexion’s 2010/11 season! She is looking forward to meeting her new students and sharing her love of dance with them.
