Philosophy

Soul Connexion is dedicated to sponsoring underprivileged children with full dance tuition that live in our own community. In Calgary’s North West alone, there are several children that do not have the opportunity to participate in any extracurricular activities.  Soul Connexion sponsors two children each year and with every corporate booking received, another child is sponsored. Our goal is to make a difference one child at a time.

CHANCE TO DANCE - Creating sustainable growth for under privileged girls, one step at a time.

MISSION

Chance to Dance’s mission is to provide less fortunate girls in Calgary with the opportunity to be inspired through dance, yoga and fitness. The Foundation will focus on creating sustainable growth in the lives of young girls in the Calgary community who may not otherwise have the opportunities by providing each sponsored girl with a three-year program dedicated to dance, yoga, fitness and goal coaching.

FOUNDATION LEADERS

Cara Poppitt and Lisa Marks are the founders of this not for profit organization devoted to inspiring young girls. Through the combination of their business degrees, talents and mutual passion for dance and fitness, Cara and Lisa will work hand in hand to make children’s dreams become reality.

FACTS

Cost of sponsoring one student is $672 - $1344 for one year of dance tuition

Chance to Dance will officially launch in 2010

Applications will open March 1, 2010

First year of the Chance to Dance program will begin September 2010

Sponsees are primarily young girls aged 6 to 15

Sponsees do not have the opportunity to enroll in dance classes otherwise

All sponsees complete a three-year program as follows:

Year One - 100% fully sponsored dance program, two personal goal-coaching sessions

Year Two - 50% sponsored dance program, two personal goal-coaching sessions

Year Three - 25% sponsored dance program, one weekend graduation retreat

Parents of sponsees will also receive class passes for yoga, fitness or dance

All dance and fitness classes take place at Soul Connexion

Chance to Dance will sponsor 7 – 10 new students every year in the program

The Foundation will not be able to fulfill its mission and goal of fulfilling dreams of young girls in Calgary without the generous support of sponsors and partners. As a result, Chance to Dance is looking to form strong partnerships that can be long lasting and beneficial to both parties. More importantly you will help us change young lives and set them up for success in the future.

Logo Recognition at all special events hosted by Soul Connexion or Chance to Dance

100% of ALL sponsor contributions, corporate and personal donations go directly towards sponsoring children. Soul Connexion pays for all administration, marketing, and business development costs as well as fitness clothing requirements for these students.

We commonly sponsor children in the North West to ensure they can get to and from dance class. We are open to sponsoring children outside of this area provided they have access to transportation.
