    < Back Chantelle Marlatt Dance Teacher Chantelle Marlatt Chantelle grew up in Cranbrook BC. There, she started dancing and fell in love with it. After completing her Royal Academy of Dance exams, she attended summer intensives with Ballet Jorgen and Royal Winnipeg Ballet. She has competed twice in the BC Provincials as a ballet soloist. Currently, Chantelle is a dance teacher with multiple studios, and a collective member of two organizations: Ballet Bodies YYC and En Corps Dance Collective. She teaches multiple styles in including ballet, jazz, aerial silks, aerial hoop, contemporary, and lyrical. Chantelle has a deep love for choreographing and teaching as well as performing herself. She wishes to teach and dance for as long as she can, inspiring those around her. Q & A with Chantelle What inspires you? My dancers inspire me so much. Seeing their dedication and drive fuels me to become a better dancer and teacher. I am also inspired by nature and art. What song moves you? A song that moves me is lights are on by Tom Rosenthal.     < Back Jasmine Lehmann Dance Teacher / Competitive Team Lead Jasmine Lehmann From the young age of 3, Miss Jasmine’s inevitable passion and love for dance began and took off quickly from there. Her training developed in many genres including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Modern and Latin Styles. She grew up successfully completing her ADAPT Jazz examinations to her advanced level and did her Royal Academy of Dance in Ballet to the intermediate level. She began competing at the young age of 5, where her love of performing and natural stage presence brought her all around North America until she was 18. Miss Jasmines’ dance career has lead her to many exciting opportunities such as dancing abroad in Mexico, training at the EDGE Performing Arts Centre in Los Angeles, TV commercials in Calgary and lastly, working as a Production Dancer for Carnival Cruise Lines traveling the Caribbean. She’s also had the privilege of performing in both the opening and closing ceremonies for the Special Olympics and World Police and Fire Games. Now broadening her skillset, Miss Jasmine completed her AFLCA (Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association) last fall, allowing her to share her love of fitness and joy for staying active with others. Miss Jasmine’s years of experience on and off the dance floor has lead to a world of knowledge she loves sharing with her students. Her dance career has allowed her to share her undeniable love of dance through teaching and choreography since she was 16. Her passion and drive has lead to many extraordinary numbers the last 4.5yrs for the competitive team at Soul Connexion.     Frequently Asked Questions Everything you need to know before you register for one of our Adult Dance, Fitness, or Yoga programs. Register Today! Yoga What types of yoga classes do you offer? We offer a variety of yoga styles throughout the year as we like to provide options both physically and mentally. Classes offered include Hatha Yoga, Vinyassa Yoga, Healing Yoga, Meditation, Yoga for Beginners, Prenatal Yoga, and more. ​ What should I bring to class? You will need a yoga mat in class. We kindly ask that you bring your own to class. We have all of the blocks and props at the studio for you to use. All props are cleaned with vital oxide between each use. ​ Do you offer beginner yoga classes? Yes, you bet. We have specialized yoga classes just for beginners so we can set you up for success and you can feel your best. We recommend you register for a beginner yoga class as it progresses each week and teaches you the fundamentals of breath and movement. After you have completed it you are welcome to join in all of our yoga classes. If our beginner class does not work for your schedule, you are welcome to join another Yoga class and our amazing Yoga teachers will help provide modifications for you to be able to get into each pose. ​ What should I wear? You will want to wear a comfortable outfit that is form-fitting and allows you to move. We recommend leggings or pants and a form-fitting shirt. You want to avoid baggy clothes that can move when you are in poses. ​ What type of class passes or memberships do you offer? To ensure that you reserve your spot in the studio, we recommend signing up for our short yoga seasonal sessions. If you are unable to commit to a class for 4 weeks, you are welcome to join our virtual drop-in classes. ​ What do I need to know about yoga? You just need to come as you are and be open to learning new methods of movement and healing. It’s so important to take care of your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Just show up and we will take care of the rest. We can’t wait to meet you. Dance & Fitness What kind of classes do you offer? We offer a wide range of fitness classes to keep things exciting and fun. Classes include Tighten and Tone, Boot Camps, Zumba, Barre, and Dance Fit. We offer different classes throughout the year. ​ What should I bring to class? You will need to bring a pair of clean indoor shoes and a bottle of water. Our lockers are closed for the time being and we kindly ask for you to grab a plastic hanger in the lobby and hanging your belongings on our dance barres in your studio room. ​ What type of class passes or memberships do you offer? To ensure that you reserve your spot in the studio, we recommend signing up for our short dance and fitness seasonal sessions. If you are unable to commit to a class for 4 weeks, you are welcome to join our virtual drop-in classes. ​ What do I do with my personal items? We ask that you grab a plastic hanger that are in our lobby and hang your personal belongings in class on our dance barres. Classes are designed to provide options for all levels of fitness. Our goal is that you find a class that you love while working at an intensity level that’s best for you.     < Back How to Measure Students Properly ​ How to Properly Measure Each Dancer Chest/Bust Wrap the measuring tape on the widest part of the chest and go under the armpits all the way around. Waist Find the bottom of the ribs and top of the hips (roughly belly button height/smallest area on the torso) and measure all the way around. Hips Have them put their feel together and wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of the hip area. Girth Have the dancer stand with their feet spread apart and wrap the measuring tape under their crotch area and up around the opposite shoulder. Measure all the way around. Inseam Only measure for costumes that need specific pants. Have the dancer ​ ​

    Fine Arts Club for Ages 2-5yrs Would you like a place for your child to play, move, create and grow? If you have a little one on the move that is bouncing with energy, we have the perfect place for them to learn and explore. Our Fine Arts Club is a fun and active program designed for preschoolers aged 2-5 yrs. Give your child an opportunity to learn through creative play and develop self-love along the way. ​ Each week offers a fun-filled theme week sparking imagination and creativity as they enjoy dance, yoga, fitness, music, art, and drama all in one 2 hr program. ​ Mini/Little Movers 2-4 years Kinder Movers 4-5 years Kids Fine Arts Club 6-10 years Our 10 to 14-week programs are non-parented and parents must be accessible during the class. 6 Activities in 1 Class The Fine Arts Club is a diverse, all-inclusive program for your child aged 2-5 years. Its fun and active curriculum allows your little one to develop social skills and talents at a young age. Your child will participate in dance, yoga, and fitness classes while enjoying music, art, and drama lessons. ​ This is your child’s opportunity to develop their confidence, spark imagination, and foster creativity. It’s time to get active and connect with others with a small class size in a large studio space. ​ Dance : Introduce your child to the world of dance!     Dance Attire Requirements Dance attire is important so that we can see proper body alignment and position for all dancers. Dance attire requirements are mandatory for all annual dancers and all students must have proper attire and shoes before the end of September, and everything can be purchased at the studio. ​ Dancers must have their hair tied back in a bun for all ballet classes and a ponytail or bun for all other dance classes. We want to set your child up for success and ensure they have a proper mindset so they can look and feel their best. ​ We make it easy and have a wide variety of attire, shoes, and tights available for sale.
