Allison Benson

Allison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary, with a major in Dance, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree specializing in Early Childhood Education. Dance has been an important part of her life since childhood, and she is passionate about sharing her love of movement, creativity, and performance with her students.

Throughout her dance training, Allison has studied Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Pointe, and Baton Twirling. She is also Acrobatic Arts Module One certified, NCCP Certified in National Coaching, a Level 1 Certified Baton Twirling Coach, and First Aid/CPR certified.

Allison believes that teachers have the incredible ability to make a positive and lasting impact on a student’s life, and she considers it a privilege to be part of that journey. Her teaching philosophy is simple: make learning memorable, not memorized. She strives to create a fun, encouraging environment where students can build confidence, express themselves, and develop a lifelong love of dance.

When she isn’t teaching dance at Soul Connexion, Allison is an elementary school teacher at the Calgary Arts Academy, where she currently teaches Physical Education and Wellness.

She is thrilled to share her passion for dance with her students and looks forward to creating many memorable moments together!
