Dance Teacher / Competitive Team Lead
From the young age of 3, Miss Jasmine’s inevitable passion and love for dance began and took off quickly from there. Her training developed in many genres including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Modern and Latin Styles. She grew up successfully completing her ADAPT Jazz examinations to her advanced level and did her Royal Academy of Dance in Ballet to the intermediate level. She began competing at the young age of 5, where her love of performing and natural stage presence brought her all around North America until she was 18.
Miss Jasmines’ dance career has lead her to many exciting opportunities such as dancing abroad in Mexico, training at the EDGE Performing Arts Centre in Los Angeles, TV commercials in Calgary and lastly, working as a Production Dancer for Carnival Cruise Lines traveling the Caribbean. She’s also had the privilege of performing in both the opening and closing ceremonies for the Special Olympics and World Police and Fire Games.
Now broadening her skillset, Miss Jasmine completed her AFLCA (Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association) last fall, allowing her to share her love of fitness and joy for staying active with others.
Miss Jasmine’s years of experience on and off the dance floor has lead to a world of knowledge she loves sharing with her students. Her dance career has allowed her to share her undeniable love of dance through teaching and choreography since she was 16. Q & A with Jasmine
What inspires you?
Positive people with a pure joy for life. #BLESS
What song moves you?
This is a tough one… Don’t Stop Believing by Journey is one of my favourites! Although anything high energy with a good beat gets me going haha. Believe it or not I also really like Country music! And last but not least can never go wrong with some good old Michael Jackson
What do you love about your job?
Watching my students express their love and dedication for dance. Expressing what’s inside and portraying the story, connecting with one another and letting a piece come alive on the dance floor is truly magical. Their smiles too are priceless! As a teacher though, the growth year after year I see in all my students is what its all about and really beyond words
