Lavender Wong
Lavender Wong began her dance journey with 11 years of training in Chinese Cultural Dance before expanding her practice into contemporary dance. She holds a combined degree from the University of Calgary: a B.A. in Dance (with a concentration in Dance Production) and a B.A. in East Asian Language Studies (with a concentration in Japanese). Lavender has performed in choreographic works by various professional choreographers both within the university and in the wider community. Her performance credits include appearances at Ballet Bodies YYC and Fluid Festival, and she has contributed to Dance YYC Showcase as both a choreographer and dancer. Lavender is excited to be part of the team and bring a new lens of dance at Soul Connexion!

What inspires you?
People! Whether that means the relationship with others or humans in general, I think "people" is something that sparks me from many aspects.
What song moves you?
I often like to dance to soundscapes/soundtracks, but Canto-Pop and J-Pop get me moving when I drive.
What do you love about your job?
Seeing all kinds of growth in everyone, both in students and myself too!
